There is a lot of debate around diffusers vs candles and we respect the conversation that's being had around the two products and which one is better for you. It's likely that smell is a deciding factor for people when purchasing a candle over a diffuser due to the stronger scent and throw a candle can give. However it is important to keep in mind this is more then likely a fragrance as opposed to a natural aroma like essential oils.
What is the difference between essential oil candles and fragranced candles?
Pure essential oils provide you with a clean, natural aroma that elicits a response as they contain natural elements that trigger the release of endorphins in the brain. This in turn causes a positive (or negative, depending on your emotional connection) emotional response which may have benefits such as calming your nervous system, relax or energises your senses to enhance your health and wellness. We also use soy wax as it has a lower melt point (unlike paraffin wax) which works well with essential oils because they require a lower melt point to keep their qualities and to ensure a good scent throw.
Fragrance scents are manufactured aromas, which means they have been chemically altered from their original plant extracts to create scents in the way perfume is created. Synthetic fragrances are often the selected choice as these aromas tend to have a wider throw and stronger burn aroma. Another determining factor or common talking point is the wax used within candles and the effect it may have on your health in comparsion to the benefits of diffusing pure essential oils. We are proud to be using 100% pure soy wax - why is soy wax better then other candle waxes? Pure soy wax is derived from soybeans which are a natural, renewable source grown in many regions by organic farmers. Pure soy wax provides a cleaner burn as it doesn’t contain paraffin waxes which are extracts of petroleum and are derived from petrochemicals.
