A New Year has landed and we always set intentions to do more, without eliminating something. What if we promised to do less un-meaningful, routine driven things before filling our plate with more expectations.
Take a moment to reflect on the year just been - what would you change? What could have been done differently? How can I make these changes moving forward?
We set such broad goals which fade away by mid-year and leave us feeling unfulfilled. Let's look at how we can minimise something before dreaming of the overall, usually overwhelming outcome. For example, instead of the generic "eat healthier", we could start with something a little more realistic like "minimise indulgent foods" and slowly transition to a healthier relationship with food. Or "minimise screen time" which could open up the opportunities connect more or exercise more.
Another thing to consider is how to achieve your intention. It is great to set the intention but if you write down how you are going to achieve this it will give you more motivation and bring the intention down to reality.
Setting Intentions & Achieving Them
1. Be More Present
Our intention: Be more present.
How we will achieve: The first step is to put some restrictions on your screen time, it's incredible how much of a difference this can make! Or rather then turning the tv on for background noise, call a loved one and talk about their day. You can diffuse your favourite essential oils and take some time to journal or meditate. A great choice would be our Meditation Blend or a calming blend.
2. Express Gratitude
Our intention: Express Gratitude
How we will achieve: Take some time to create a space, spritz the air with a beautiful room spray, turn your diffuser on or roll on your favourite essential oil rollerball. Take a deep breath and write down 3 things you are grateful for each day. Cedarwood or Sandalwood essential oils could help during these practices to keep you grounded or perhaps an energising oil to help express your gratitude.
3. Everyday Wellness
Our intention: Everyday Wellness
How we will achieve: The above mentioned are going to be amazing contributors to this intention. Everyday wellness will look and feel different for everybody, a great starting point is to create daily rituals that will help you through your day. This may be adding a drop of essential oil to your shower to brighten your mood or help you sleep better. It is little things which can enhance your everyday wellness.
