Making your own soap bar doesn't need to be difficult or contain to many ingredients. You can choose your favourite essential oils or make the soap bars purposeful around their therapeutic benefits.

DIY Soap Bar Recipe

Ingredients


4 Castile Soap Bars

• 1/2 cup Distilled Water

• 1 teaspoon Jojoba Carrier Oil

• 20 drops of Lavender essential oil

10 drops of Geranium essential oil

or 30 drops of your favourite essential oils

• Ice cube tray or moulds

 

Optional:

• 1/3 cup of oats: great anti-inflammatory for the skin and can also gently exfoliate skin.

Dried herbs or petals: a personal touch plus looks beautiful!

Method


1. Grate your bars of Castile Soap.

 

2. Melt your grated castile soap and slowly add the water. Use two pots: one pot filled with boiling water and with the other pot, containing the ingredients, placed on top or inside, until fully liquefied.

 

3. Once the castile soap is melted, remove from heat and add in your Jojoba Carrier Oil and essential oils.

 

4. Stir in and pour into your ice cube trays or moulds. Store in an airtight container and allow a few days before use.

 

5. Keep in your shower or basin for use when needed.
