- Eucalyptus Essential Oil commonly used in cleaning due to its antiseptic and expectorant properties.
- Peppermint Essential Oil is great for disinfecting surfaces.
- Distilled Water - to ensure there are no impurities in your cleaning products.
- White vinegar (optional) - The acidic nature of vinegar is so powerful it can dissolve mineral deposit, dirt, grease, and grime.
- 500ml Spray Bottle - a great choice for your DIY cleaning products as they are reusable and recyclable
Method
1. Add the following essential oils to a 500ml spray bottle;
- 20 drops Lemon Essential Oil
- 20 drops Lemongrass Essential Oil
- 20 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
- 10 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
2. If you are using vinegar, add equal parts of vinegar and distilled water to your 500ml spray bottle. Otherwise, fill rest of bottle with distilled water and screw on the spray lid.
3. Shake thoroughly

- White vinegar (optional) - The acidic nature of vinegar is so powerful it can dissolve mineral deposit, dirt, grease, and grime.
- 1 tsp baking soda - Baking Soda acts a cleaning agent because it is a mild alkali and can cause dirt and grease to dissolve easily in water for effective removal.
- Tea Tree Essential Oil has a strong antimicrobial action. Extensive studies have shown Tea Tree to be effective against bacterial, fungal and viral pathogens, providing us with a broad-spectrum disinfectant.
- Lemon Essential Oil - has antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-infectious properties.
- 100ml Spray Bottle - perfect for DIY recipes as they are amber glass and reusable.
Method
- Add following essential oils to a 100ml spray bottle
- 10 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
- 5 drops Lemon Essential Oil
- Add 1 tsp baking soda to the spray bottle.
- Fill rest of bottle with equal parts of white vinegar and distilled water. Be careful when adding the vinegar as it might overflow due to the chemical reaction with baking soda.
- Screw on spray lid and shake gently.
