We spend a lot of focus and energy on end of year celebrations. Plans and resolutions might have been made. There are things to let go of and things to bring in. At this point of the year, we might want to evaluate how we are doing. Do some goals need to be restored with a breath of new energy? Are we heading down old paths and need some motivation to turn around again? Do you have the energy to live the life you love?

What essential oils are good for Autumn?

It's hard to say goodbye to Summer with it's long, warm days and festive cheer that surrounds us. Soon you start to feel a shift in the air with mornings turning crisp as the leaves on the trees change colour. During Autumn, some plants drop their leaves in order to conserve energy and the last fruits of the season produce seeds to ensure new life in Spring. We, too, take time to prepare for dormant periods by dreaming about and nurturing ourselves. Aromatherapy can play a nurturing and supportive role to help carry us through Autumn, try these essential oils;

The familiar sweet, dry and spicy fragrance of Black Pepper is both fortifying and comforting. In preparation for the colder months ahead Black Pepper creates a calm yet energetic space, so we can tie up loose ends and prepare to rest.

After a busy and hectic Summer, Frankincense helps us to overcome nervous fatigue and silence a busy mind, encouraging us to reflect on the past and seek clear inspiration for the future.

Vetiver essential oil is an extremely relaxing oil that can be useful to treat insomnia and support us during times of lowered immunity or feeling run down due to over activity which is very common during Summer.

Melissa essential oil comforts the heart and alleviates depressed spirits with a delicately sweet and lemony fragrance. Useful for those who are fatigued due to the overstimulating nature of our world to gently create boundaries from which rest and restoration can occur.

Neroli has been reported to have antidepressant qualities and is helpful for those who are emotionally fatigued, sensitive to stress or highly empathetic.
