With the launch of our Certified Organic range we can understand there are lots of questions surrounding the certification, the difference with certified organic essential oils and about our pure essential oils range itself.

Organic Certification means that the product has been produced in the most harmonious way to the planet - no synthetic chemicals are used, crops are grown using the most ecologically sustainable methods possible to avoid pests and weeds, the products are GMO free with science being used to determine long term effects on the environment and wildlife. Every step in the growing, processing & bottling cycle is fully traceable giving the consumer peace of mind that the product is assured to have been grown under all the above mentioned conditions.

This is not to say our pure essential oils range is not grown under these conditions, it means that organic is not just "chemical free", it is a whole system or holistic means of growing and handling plants. While we source all of our oils organically, the majority of the farms/countries we source from don’t actually have internationally recognised organic standards. What we do know is that we only source from farms that do not use GMOs or pesticides on their crops.

Let's take a look at some of our customers frequently asked questions regarding Certified Organic essential oils.

How are Organic Essential Oils Different to Pure Essential Oils?

One of the most common questions and we completely understand why! There's a lot of conflicting information out there. With everything mentioned above, another big difference with the Certified Organic range is that the farms are audited regularly to ensure they are complying with ACO standards and we cannot source from another farm if a natural disaster were to occur, if weather doesn't permit or if the plant is out of season.

Are all ECO. essential oils grown without GMOs, pesticides & synthetic chemicals?

Yes! We only source from farms that do not use GMOs, synthetic chemicals or pesticides on their crops.

Why aren't all essential oils certified organic?

One of the greatest challenges to supply Certified Organic products is the consistency of supply as Organic products are heavily affected by climatic and environmental conditions. Growers can go in and out of certification and crops can be erratic, and this in turn can lead to spasmodic supply of oils, causing supply to be more limited and sought after.

Do certified organic essential oils smell different?

It's fair to say everybody will differ! Some people love Lavender, some people hate Lavender. For us, we find the Certified Organic range to be really crisp in aroma. They are a strong, pure aroma yet not too overpowering.
