When faced with a lack of energy we often adopt unhealthy behaviours including less sleep and poor nutrition, involving too much caffeine and sugar.

There are a range natural alternatives available to increase energy levels and uplift mood such as essential oils. Indeed, many essential oils have powerful energy-boosting properties which help to invigorate and awaken the senses. Next time you're experiencing an energy slump, before reaching for another cup of coffee, a piece of chocolate or a sugary energy drink, why not try some energising essential oils.

Citrus and herbal essential oils are known for their strong, refreshing and invigorating properties that can naturally help uplift mood, counteract fatigue, promote concentration and increase motivation.

How to Use Essential Oils to Boost Energy

There are several ways you can use essential oils to help naturally boost energy.

  • Diffuse: Add 6-8 drops of an energy boosting essential oil to your diffuser and let yourself be invigorated by the scent.
  • Inhale straight from the bottle: Grab your favourite uplifting essential oil and take a few deep breaths straight from the bottle for an instant lift.
  • Rollerball perfume: Make your own rollerball blend by adding 5 drops of you favourite energising essential oils to 10ml carrier oil.
  • Shower: Add 2-3 drops of uplifting essential oil to the corner of the shower and inhale deeply.
