What are Moisturising Bars?

Moisturising bars speak for themselves in what they can do to benefit your skin! They are softening, deeply hydrating solid moisturisers. The best part about our recipe? They're vegan! A lot of moisturising bars use beeswax pellets, which is just as beneficial, unless you are vegan or prefer a non-animal derived product. Instead, we have chosen to use Candelilla Wax, a vegetable derived wax that is soothing, nourishing and protective to the skin, its other hidden benefits may include reducing stretch marks or cellulite, which who doesn't love?!

One thing to take into account is, candelilla wax is slightly more dense then beeswax, so if you are wishing to substitute one for the other, keep in mind that you should use around half the amount of candelilla wax in comparison to beeswax.

Vegan Moisturising Bars Recipe

Mould tray

1/2 cup Babassu Butter

1/2 cup carrier oil

1/2 cup Candelilla Wax Pellets

40 drops essential oil of choice

We chose Lavender & Frankincense essential oils for their anti-inflammatory and brightening properties on the skin.

1. Add the ingredients to a large glass measuring cup.

2. Place the glass cup in a saucepan filled with water & allow the ingredients to melt over a low heat.

3. Once melted, let the mixture cool, then add the essential oils.

4. Pour the mixture into the moulds. Refrigerate overnight.

5. Pop the bars out of the mould & store into an airtight glass container.

How to use

Gently massage the Moisturising Bar over the body and allow the natural warmth of the skin melt and hydrate.
