The catastrophic fires burning across the country have not only destroyed homes and communities and have also caused unprecedented damage to our native flora and wildlife. On the flip side, it has been incredible to watch the world come together to help and the overwhelming support provided by people, businesses and organisations across the country.
Our deepest thoughts go to everyone affected by the fires, the amazing work of the firefighters as well as to all the organisations working together to provide support in this time of crisis.
ECO. Modern Essentials donated over $20,000 worth of goods to help volunteers on the ground. In addition, we will be donating 100% of the profits from this weekend's online sales to WIRES & NSW RFS.
If you would like to make a cash donation to support the work of organisations on the ground, you can do by direct bank transfer or using the organisations official donation pages. Be sure to do your research and avoid scam fundraising and donation pages. You can find the official donation links for well known registered organisations below:
- WIRES (Wildlife Rescue)
- NSW Rural Fire Service
- Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund
- Salvation Army Fire Appeal
- Victorian Bushfire Appeal
- RSPCA NSW Bushfire Appeal
If you wish to help through the donation of goods, the best way to donate is to work directly with one of the organisations on ground to facilitate the coordination of the goods and make sure they get into the hands of the right people.
If you wish to donate to the Volunteer Firefighters, you can contact your local brigade or the NSW RFS.
If you wish to donate goods to individuals, you can do this through GIVIT.
If you wish to donate food, the best way to do so is via the Food Bank of Australia. They provide a list of high needed items as well as the nearest warehouse location where you can donate those items.
If you wish to support the local businesses affected by the fires during or after the bushfire crisis, you can do so by connecting with them on @spendwiththem or @buyfromthebush. The best thing we can do to help the devastated communities to rebuild is to go and purchase from them.
If a cash donation is not possible, there are many other ways you can offer your support:

♥ Save water
♥ Eat only what you need
♥ Plant native trees around your property or neighbourhood
♥ Leave water out for birds and animals

♥ Donate $ to official charities
