Can I add essential oils to my pets food? Ingestion of essential oils can be very dangerous for pets and cause severe health issues. Always keep oils out of reach from your pet, if your pet does ingest an essential oil contact your veterinarian immediately, do not induce vomiting as there is a risk of aspiration and damage to the lungs.
Can I use these essential oils topically on my pet? No, we do not recommend using or applying essential oils directly onto your pets skin or fur. If you have any concerns contact your vet.
How many drops should I use for my pet's size and breed? When using essential oils for pets, less is always more, their sense of smell is much stronger than ours and it is better to use caution and safety.
Diffuser: We recommend to start using 3-5 drops in a diffuser in a well ventilated area for a medium pet (10-20kg). If your pet is smaller you can adjust by reducing the amount of drops used.
Aromatherapy Collar: 1 diluted drop for pets under 8kg, 1-2 diluted drops for pets over 8kg. Every pet is different, and some may have sensitivities that aren't immediately obvious. Before introducing any essential oils into your pet’s environment, consult with your veterinarian, especially if they have respiratory issues, allergies, or other health conditions.
Can humans use the pet-friendly essential oil blends? Yes! Our blends are formulated to be pet-friendly but can still be enjoyed by humans.
Is these safe to use during human pregnancy? We do not recommend using Cedarwood, Clary Sage or German Chamomile Essential Oils during pregnancy. Always avoid using essential oils during the first trimester unless you are under the supervision of a qualified practitioner. Use these oils with care, best used in a diffuser or diluted with a carrier oil (1% ratio). See our full list of pregnancy safe oils in our FAQs.
Are these safe for children? We do not recommend using Cedarwood, Clary Sage or Vetiver Essential Oils around children. Essential oils are considered too strong for use on babies’ skin (0-24 months) and can be overwhelming on their developing systems. When using in a diffuser, use fewer drops then that for an adult (eg. 2-3 drops). See our ECO. Little range for appropriate, kid-friendly blends.
